Wow! I couldn't put this book down ... Romantic suspense veteran Lynette Eason gives us a fast paced, exciting plot that flips the typical bodyguard/protector trope upside-down.
It was a neat twist that Olivia is the "protector" instead of the usual romantic suspense plots of the man having to protect the heroine. However, that didn't make Wade any less masculine or a less attractive love interest. They have great chemistry.
The main characters were likeable, honest, hardworking people. I easily connected to them like they were my friends. I felt anxious and fearful for both Olivia and Wade as the mysterious stalker escalates from leaving Wade things to harming others. Several times I thought I knew who the stalker was, but with unforeseen twists, I discovered I was wrong. It'll keep you guessing until the end!
Lynette Eason's Elite Guardians series is off to an amazing start! I look forward to reading Without Warning, featuring Olivia's co-worker, Katie Singleton, releasing later this summer.
